Who Are the Groups of Men who are at Risk of Prostate Cancer?

Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that is common in men. Usually prostate cancer develops slowly and is limited to the prostate gland. At first the cancer did not cause serious damage. However, some types of prostate cancer are aggressive and can spread quickly, requiring treatment.

1. Older Age Men

Prostate cancer is rare in men under 40 years. The risk of prostate cancer increases rapidly after men reach 50 years of age. About 6 in 10 prostate cancers are found in men over 65 years.

2. Specific Race or Ethnicity

Prostate cancer is faster in African-American men and Caribbean men of African descent than in men of other races. When cancer develops in men, it usually tends to be younger. Prostate cancer is less common in Asian-American and Hispanic / Latino men than non-Hispanic whites.

3. Geographical Factors

Prostate cancer is commonly experienced by men who live in North America, Northwest Europe, Australia and in the Caribbean islands. 4. Family History

  • Consume soy and green tea. Consuming a glass of green tea every morning is a good start to prevent prostate cancer. Foods that contain soy are also active and effective in preventing cancer.
  • Drinking coffee regularly every morning can reduce the chance of prostate cancer. However, also pay attention to the amount of coffee intake, don’t overdo it. The recommended coffee is coffee that is boiled, not instant coffee, and use enough sugar.
  • Replace animal fat with vegetable fat. There is a significant relationship between consumption of animal fats with an increased risk of prostate cancer.
